ESSA Job Description - Business Manager

The Business Manager collects, records and updates player data/information that supports key ESSA processes required for the effective and efficient operation of the Association.

Position Description

  1. Prepares player data/information for the following:

    1. Team Draft
    2. Rating Process
    3. Player Packages *
    4. Captain Packages **
    5. Umpires & Scorekeepers Packages ***
    6. Annual Assessment Process (formerly known as Rookie Camp)
    7. Annual Awards Eligibility
    8. Memorial Day Event

  2. Arranges Board balloting for Annual Awards (Bob Stewart Award, Anne Colhoun Award).

  3. Orders awards of participation medals .

  4. Updates photo book archives.

  5. Provide electronic copies of team list, schedule, etc., to web site administrator.

  6. Submit budget requirements to the Treasurer.
Player Packages *

Updates and assembles player's info package which should include:

  1. Schedule, noting practice fields, noting holidays and tournaments (use heavier paper).
  2. Team roster sheet, by team (use heavier paper).
  3. Player list with phone numbers.
  4. Rules noting changes or rules flagrantly not followed.
  5. Board of Directors list and titles.
  6. Players Creed and Captains Creed.
Captains Packages **

Updates and assembles Captains' package which includes the Player Package plus:

  1. Sweater list.
  2. Playoff tiebreaker rules.
  3. Fair Play guide for officials and Fairness Committee.
  4. How to rate players abilities.
  5. Captain end of season rating form of his/her team.
  6. Injury report form.
Umpire & Scorekeepers' Packages ***

Assembles umpire and scorekeepers' package which should include:

  1. Rules (complete).
  2. Schedule.
  3. Fair play guide.
  4. Team rosters.
