ESSA Job Description - Commissioner

The Commissioner is the Chief Executive Officer of the Etobicoke Senior Slo-Pitch Association (ESSA) and as such maintains a liaison with the City of Toronto Fairfield Community Centre staff as necessary. He / she oversees all operations of the Association. He / she will uphold and promote the values of the Etobicoke Senior Slo-Pitch Association such as good sportsmanship, fellowship, and fairness, and the best interests of recreational slo-pitch. The position of the Commissioner is for a two year period and can be extended by a majority vote of the Board of Directors.

Job Description

1. Prepares agendas for meetings.
2. Presides as Chair at all Board of Directors meetings.
3. Serves as an ex-officio member of all committees.
4. Oversees the appointments of committees and committee chairpersons.
5. Delegates various administrative responsibilities to individual committee members.
6. Represents the ESSA in dealing the other Slo-Pitch organizations.
7. Arranges for signing authority for ESSA expenses.
8. Prepares preseason letter for all potential ball players regarding Rookie Camp.
9. Prepares and mails out banquet invitation letters as necessary.
10. Works closely with the Fairfield Centre representative regarding all items that deal with the running of the City of Toronto Etobicoke 55+ Slo-Pitch League and the Etobicoke Senior Slo-Pitch Association.
