ESSA Job Description - Player Draft Committee

This committee is responsible for preparing for the player draft where the teams are selected. The members should be experienced players who know most of the players; the Association Statistician would likely be involved, and a representative from the Fairness Committee could be involved.

Job Description

1. Collect, tabulate and review the ratings from the previous season.
2. Prepare for Rookie Camp where new players are rated. Arrange for New Player letter to be sent (by e-mail) by Commissioner.
3. Prepare documents for Player Draft:
   • Player list by rating.
   • Player list by position.
   • Team selection list by rating.
   • Team selection chart(s) by position.
   • Player "sticky notes" with name and category.
4. Consider other options for ratings / categories and/or team selection.
