ESSA Job Description - Umpire-In-Chief

The Umpire-In-Chief is responsible for managing the umpires for the round-robin and playoff games. He/she helps with umpire training and interpreting slo-pitch and Association rules correctly.

Job Description

  1. Identifies umpires and assigns them to diamonds.
  2. Organizes and supervises the training of umpires.
  3. Acts as a resource for the Rules Committee (should be a committee member).
  4. Assists in explaining the intent of rules to Captains and players.
