NOT GETTING E-MAILS? CHECK YOUR 'JUNK EMAIL' FOLDER / 'BLOCKED SENDERS' LIST.

If you are "missing" some e-mails, check your 'Junk' folder and mark the e-mail(s) as 'Not Junk' so they appear in your 'Inbox'. These problems appear to affect mainly Gmail / Hotmail / Outlook users.
You should also check your 'Blocked Senders' list to remove any addresses that you trust; click here to find out how to check / fix this.
If you still can't find them, they are being dropped without notification by Microsoft (who runs Hotmail / MSN / Outlook), and the only solution is to get an e-mail address with a more reasonable provider.

GMAIL USERS - CHECK YOUR 'SPAM' FOLDER

For Gmail, messages may end up in your 'Spam' folder. If that is happening, you can create a filter so that mail from 'XXX@YYY.ZZ' is never sent to 'Spam'. To do that:
  1. Find a misfiled message in any mailbox.
  2. Click on the 3 vertical dots in the icon bar above the message (it will pop up a label 'More').
  3. Click on 'Filter messages like these'.
  4. Click on 'Create filter' (don't fill in any of the other fields).
  5. Select 'Never send it to Spam'.
  6. Click on 'Create filter'.
[Note: you may only be able to do this when accessing Gmail in a browser on a Windows computer, not in the Gmail app on a phone.]

HOTMAIL USERS - CHECK YOUR 'JUNK EMAIL' FOLDER

For Hotmail, some messages may end up in your 'Junk Email' folder. If that is happening, you can create a filter so that mail from 'XXX@YYY.ZZ' is never sent to 'Spam'. To do that:
  1. Click on the 'Settings' icon (cog wheel).
  2. Click on 'View all Outlook settings' at the bottom.
  3. Click on 'Mail'.
  4. Click on 'Junk email'.
  5. In the 'Safe senders and domains' section, click on 'Add'.
  6. Fill in the box with 'XXX@YYY.ZZ' where 'XXX@YYY.ZZ' is the person you want to mark as a safe sender.
  7. Hit the Enter key to add it to the list.
  8. Click on 'Save'.
A similar option may be available to Outlook users.

BELL.NET USERS - CHECK YOUR 'JUNK MAIL' FOLDER

For bell.net, some messages may end up in your 'Junk Mail' folder.
See their Troubleshooting Bell Email notes, specifically the 'Blocked Senders' under 'Settings'.
