Back by popular demand, another poem that celebrates our OBA winning weekend.

Another OBA Title

It builds strength of character, they say,
to lose a few ball games along the way.
Adversity The Blues faced this season,
but the OBAs were different - with good reason.

Michael faced batters who hadn't seen him much,
he foiled their attempts with his magical touch.
Edward delivered controlled pitches on the mound,
proving depth on this team could certainly be found.

Ryan stole bases and left teams seeing only dust,
they should've learned by now, in his speed we trust.
Ellis' arm had strength & pin-point accuracy,
to attempt a steal against him showed real audacity!

Outstanding defense was on full display,
as David, Justin & Tevin showed the way.
Scooping up balls or tracking them in the air,
every hit was chased whether foul or fair.

The Blues showed competitiveness & wild abandon,
who else could turn a walk into a double, but Brandon?
Encouraging words Coach Dickie shouted out loud,
Jason's hit over 3rd earned cheers from the crowd.

Gareth hit a grand-slam home run that thrilled us so
when he was batting, over the fence the balls would go.
Rashan hugged 1st so nothing could get by,
batter after batter, each opponent gave it a try.

Austin's power made us grin from ear to ear,
it was obvious that pitchers faced him with fear.
With solid batting & defense The Blues won our hearts,
these boys are greater than the sum of their parts.

Unfortunately, some teammates were unable to play,
but, neither politics nor injuries could keep Josh & Kris away.
They came to offer encouragement to their team,
after all, they played a role & were a part of this dream.

An unprecedented fourth title would be theirs,
as the opponents watched with empty stares.
The music encouraged the fans to cheer & sing,
as The Blues elated us & grabbed the OBA ring.
