The Etobicoke 55+ Slo-Pitch League started play in 1994. The League was founded by Anne Colhoun, under the auspices of the City of Toronto Department of Parks and Recreation; she is also an Honorary League Member.
These players have been in the League since inception (the "20 Year Club"):
Bert Chalmers, Clare Jones, John Hughson, Lorne Christie, Ralph Currie.
In 2015, these players were inducted into the "Club": Jim Jennings, Vic Leonard.

For more information on the league or to sign up, go to the Fairfield Seniors Centre, 80 Lothian Ave (Bloor St and Islington Ave area), or call Mike Taylor at 416-394-8687, or Lisa Heise or Allessandra Rasile at 416-394-8636.
For this coming season, the League will play at Centennial Park (#1 (N), #2 (SW), #3 (SE)), and at Diamond Beach (#5).
The League has permits for the Centennial Park diamonds, but not for Diamond Beach; if someone is using Diamond Beach (#5), first try Diamond Beach (#4), then move the game to West Deane (on the west side of Martin Grove Rd. north of Rathburn Rd).
G1: Westowne Mazda vs Mudhens on CP#???.
G2: The Grille vs Abacus on CP#???.
NOTE: In G1 and G2, the first team listed is the home team.
G3: Winner of G1 vs Winner of G2 on CP#1.
NOTE: The home team is the higher ranked team in the playoff standings.
A note about Percy: He was the strongest player to ever swing a bat in the ESL. In the early years, some teams had a 35 oz. bat, which nobody used --- except Percy, who swung it like a toothpick.
Donuts and coffee were available before the ceremony and games, and salad, wings, ribs and chicken fingers were enjoyed at The Grille afterwards (along with a few beverages).
